The extensive refurbishment and extension of The Beeches, a Grade II Listed Building gave the structure new life and clarity. The alterations removed many of the previously sub-divided spaces, which made it more akin to the original layout. The interiors were designed to maximise the available space and to integrate as many of the original features as possible.
Demolition of the ad hoc single storey buildings on the site allowed for a more respectful and appropriate annex to the original building, which collectively delivered seven generous and quality apartments.
The development presented several challenges, working on such an expansive listed building, in particular securing Planning and Listed Building Consent. The building is a dominant structure within the locality and the appropriate permissions were secured through careful liaison with local residents and Development Control.
